YOUR SKILLS:

  • Electrical Engineering Cert IV or equivalent or
  • Cert IV in Information Technology (networking)
  • Experience in fault finding including analysis and documentation of process and results.
  • Previous experience working within a Defence or Defence Industry environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced skills in MS Office

Responsibilities:

ABOUT YOUR ROLE: FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN – ELECTRONICS

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Field Service Technician to join the Scylla In Service Support Team maintaining and repairing complex Sensor Systems fitted to Collins class Submarines.
As a Field Service technician, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing state of the art equipment fitted to RAN ships, submarines, and land-based sites, ensuring optimal performance. Your key focus will be on supporting Thales equipment fitted to Collins Class Submarines under the ISS Contract.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The successful and professional conduct of maintenance and / or repair tasks
  • Leading the technical aspects of a maintenance task
  • Communicating with Supervisors and Maintenance Managers, ensuring task progression and relevant issues are reported
  • Develop documents & capture of information within information systems relating to the conduct of maintenance and/or repair activities
  • Assisting the Inventory Management team to receipt, packaging and despatch GFE/CFE as required
