The AIR 5428 Pilot Training System partners with the Australian Defence Force for development of its military pilot workforce at four operating bases, RAAF Base East Sale, RAAF Base Pearce, RAAF Base Edinburgh, and RAAF Base Williamtown. Implementing a tailored learning solution, Lockheed Martin leads the delivery of this approach for all Royal Australian Air Force, Royal Australian Navy and the Australian Army candidates; as well as supporting operations for other key Australian Defence Force aviation units.
ABOUT YOU:
We are interested in hearing from a range of candidates with varied levels of experience, from those with a strong aptitude in IT or electronics, a school leaver with a keen interest in Aviation, through to candidates with trade skills associated with the operation and maintenance of electronic based systems and equipment. What we will be looking for:
- Ability to follow structured operational maintenance plans to meet maintenance, operational and quality objectives.
- Computer literacy with an ability to analyse and interpret maintenance information.
- Basic to intermediate skills and experience in the use of MS Office and other relevant software packages and applications.
- Understanding of WHS and security application and responsibilities.
- Experience/or ability in the use of a Maintenance Management Systems.
- Tertiary qualifications (Certificate III or above) in a relevant discipline (electronics, electrical, mechanical engineering from a recognised institution, and/or equivalent relevant experience (preferably within the defence industry).
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and eligible to hold and maintain CoA baseline clearance. As part of the recruitment process you will also be required to attend a medical on behalf of Lockheed Martin.

Responsibilities:
The primary role of Simulator Technician is to conduct maintenance and support activities for a variety of technical equipment and facilities including Flight Training Devise (FTD) and Cockpit Procedural Trainer (CPT). This will assist our 5428 Pilot Training System to run smoothly each day. Day to day tasks include:
- Participate (under direct supervison only) in technical activities on relevant technical equipment and systems. Inclusive of fault analysis, testing and diagnosis of equipment, system and network infrastructure.
- Maintain technical systems and componentry.
- Assist (under direct supervison) limited install, test and repair activities on electronic equipment in accordance with relevant technical instructions.
- Assist in investigations into non-standard problems under the guidance of more experienced Technicians.
- Complete tasks as directed to ensure that all equipment is serviceable, configured correctly, and available for operations as required.
- Complete tasks as directed to ensure that equipment is maintained in a manner that enables business targets to be successfully achieved
- Generate and complete work orders using the approved Maintenance Management System (MMS).
- Maintain effective customer communications and relations, and represent the Company in a professional manner
- Adhere to approved work practices, conforming with policy and processes authorised in technical manuals or project instructions.
- Investigating, troubleshooting, testing, analysing and diagnosing of technical equipment.
- Maintenance and repair of technical equipment.
- Providing updates on the maintenance and fault finding on equipment.
- Generating and completing work orders as directed using the approved Maintenance Management System.
- Operation of PC-21 Simulators.
