We currently have an openings for Field Technician/Technologist in our Barrie office.
The successful candidate will have the following:

EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Working towards a College Level Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with materials testing and inspection.
  • Experience working with computer assisted drafting (CAD) and surveying is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in civil construction is considered an asset.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in the following:

  • Field testing and sampling of aggregates, soils, concrete, and asphalt.
  • Compaction testing of subgrade soils, aggregates, and asphalt.
  • Subgrade and foundation inspections.
  • Supervising a drill rig.
  • Assisting in the completion of Phase One and Phase Two Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Assisting field investigations, including supervision of borehole drilling and monitoring well installation, test pit investigation and surface water and groundwater sampling.
  • Compilation, tabulation, and interpretation of field and analytical results.
  • Field testing and sampling of soil, sediment, water and air.
  • Various office and field tasks related to materials testing.
  • Other duties as required
