ABOUT YOU

  • Tertiary qualification Commerce / Accounting; and postgraduate CPA/CA/CFA (or equivalent) or Masters
  • 5+ years’ experience in a financial analysis position, with experience in large matrix organisations highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools, financial modelling, and data visualisation tools
  • Experience in IBM Planning and Analytics (TM1), SAP, SAC and Power BI desirable
  • Advanced Excel
  • Strong attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Coronado Global Resources is seeking a driven Financial Analyst to support the Manager, Group Financial Planning & Analysis with the short-term strategic direction of the business through streamlining management reporting processes, and analysing data to provide advanced insights enabling Executive in strategic decision-making.
Located in our Brisbane Corporate office, you will be key in assisting and ensuring the successful preparation and delivery of Coronado’s management, and board reports;, variance and other analyses, including commentary on such analysis, and consolidating both Australia and U.S group budgets and forecasts.
This role would suit a self-starter who has performed similar role in large organisations, with considerable systems experience.

Your role will be rewarding and varied, where you will:

  • Support the management reporting and forecasting process, by consolidating regional forecasts and analysing financial and non-financial data and trends to assess performance against financial targets and benchmarks.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial presentations for executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyse Group financial performance metrics, KPIs, and key drivers of business growth via the ongoing administration of the Group BI tools.
  • Preparation of monthly management financial reporting to the Board/ELT including providing commentary against variances.
  • Assist in the development of the Group budgeting process by supporting leader with planning. and monitoring of deliverables from regional teams including consolidating, reporting and analysing of group budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, perform analysis, and support business initiatives.
  • Completion of various “ad hoc” analysis as directed by VP Group Financial Control and senior leadership team
