Overview:
Are you a detail-oriented and analytical individual with a passion for finance? We are currently seeking a qualified accountant to to join our team, and play a crucial role in analysing financial data and providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making within our organisation. Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis: Conducting in-depth analysis of financial statements, budgets, and other financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. This involves analysing revenue and expense patterns, profitability, cash flow, and other financial metrics.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Assisting in the development of financial forecasts and budgets by analysing historical data, market trends, and business objectives. This includes preparing financial models and projections to support decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Financial Reporting: Preparing and presenting financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, to management and stakeholders. This involves summarising and interpreting financial data, highlighting key insights and trends, and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Cost Analysis: Conducting cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency. This includes analysing cost drivers, conducting variance analysis, and recommending cost reduction strategies.
  • Financial Planning and Strategy: Assisting in the development of financial plans and strategies to achieve business objectives. This involves conducting financial feasibility studies, evaluating investment opportunities, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and assessing financial risks, such as market volatility, credit risk, and liquidity risk. This includes developing risk mitigation strategies and monitoring risk exposure to ensure financial stability and compliance with regulations.
  • Financial Systems and Tools: Utilising financial systems and tools, such as ERP systems, financial modeling software, and data analytics tools, to analyse and interpret financial data. This includes staying updated with the latest financial technology trends and leveraging them to improve financial analysis and reporting processes.
  • To excel in this role, a Finance Analyst should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with complex financial data. They should also possess excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate financial insights and recommendations to stakeholders. Additionally, proficiency in financial analysis tools and software, as well as knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations, is essential.

Qualifications:

  • A qualified accountant (ICAEW/ICAS, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse complex financial data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights to support decision-making.
  • A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in financial analysis and reporting, and the ability to spot errors or inconsistencies in financial data and rectify them.
  • A deep understanding of financial concepts, accounting principles, and financial regulations is crucial. With the ability to interpret financial statements, analyse financial ratios, and understand the impact of financial decisions on the organisation.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software, such as Excel, financial modeling software, and ERP systems. Utilises data analytics and visualisation tools to effectively analyse and present financial data.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate financial insights and recommendations to stakeholders, including non-financial professionals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify financial issues, analyse root causes, and develop effective solutions.
  • A critical thinker with sound financial judgments.
  • Manage and prioritise multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Work as part of a team, and collaborate with colleagues from different departments to share information, and contribute to collective goals.
