JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Finance analyst (here after FA) will strengthen the Finance team in the commitment to be providing finance support and leadership for the GEHC Pharmaceutical Manufacturing site based in Oslo, Norway. The Oslo FA will support the site Finance Manager in overseeing all areas of finance for the plant including Integrated Supply Chain (here after ISC) and new products introduction (NPIs), drawing upon the services of Global CoE’s as required.
This FA role includes activities such as supporting Site Finance Manager in the financial planning & budgeting, management accounting and performance measurement for the Plant, but above all else to provide analytical strength into new product development and investment and the development of the production for the already existing products at the site.
This is a role that require business partnering skills with a strong finance background to support the Site Finance Manager and the Finance team in providing the analytical resource that the Manufacturing Site needs to understand and learn from the past and look ahead and challenge and influence the future.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (for Scandinavia the title “Siviløkonom” is sufficient) and minimum of some years of financial work experience including developing forecasts & operating plans and leading business / finance reviews
  • Excellent analytical skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change
  • Capable of forging strong relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

  • Problem solving: has successfully led cross-functional projects/process improvement within the operations/finance function
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills: experience working across multiple levels (including executive level) and functions; able to clearly and proactively communicate complex financial and operational information in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Confidence / Assertiveness: strong influencing skills across business functions
  • Solid PC skills: experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, SAP, COGNOS, Business Objects, etc.), strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (i.e. pivot tables)
  • Experience working in global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows
  • Experience in dealing with statutory audit process and communication with external auditors
  • Adaptable/flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances
  • Basic understanding of financial compliance: SOX, GAAP, NGAAP
  • Graduate of GE’s Financial Management Program (FMP), or Corporate Audit Staff (CAS); or graduate of other financial leadership programs
  • Fluency in written and spoken Norwegian

Responsibilities:

  • Provide analytical strength into new product development and investment and into the operating performance for the already existing products at the site to support strategic growth initiatives within the organization.
  • Support in developing Plant estimates, operating plans/forecasts/reviews – includes Strategy Roadmap (3/5-year Plan), Blueprint/OP (1-year Plan)
  • Support the Site Finance Manager with the financial integrity and consistent and effective policies and procedures for the Plant
  • With the Finance team build and maintain a culture of cost control and accountability
  • Support the Finance team to develop and improve financial processes: Finance reporting tools, Management reporting tools, budgeting and estimating processes, standard Production Cost set ups and analyses, Capital Investment.
  • Learn and execute on the LEAN principles to act as an agent of change, supporting alignment across the Norway plants and the teams, eliminating duplication and inefficiency. Leverage standard approaches across the plants in the organization to drive common activities.
  • Provide local financial support to Regional, Global and other central teams as required
