WHAT’S THE STORY?

We are looking for a Finance Analyst to join the team on a contract basis to support our team during our year end. In this role, You will also assist with budget and forecast planning, monthly reporting and ensuring the integrity of month end results. Includes ad-hoc analysis and financial modelling.
This role will also include a variety of Stakeholder engagement where you will work alongside the FBP Data & Technology, Squad Lead for Corporate Share Services.

Responsibilities:

As a member of a strong and supportive team, your role involves the following:

  • Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements, processing journals & a variety of data
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to facilitate the year-end process through providing requested documentation and support whilst actioning and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Prepare regular forecasts in conjunction with business units in line with Group timetables and to support internal needs
  • Contribute to the month end reporting processes, provide meaningful analysis and commentary on results/budgets/forecasts highlighting drivers of performance, opportunities, risks and implications for the outlook period
  • Provide forward trend analysis and a comprehensive level of insight with a whole of business and whole of P&L view
  • Help manage Finance Master Data in the General Leger, Planning Tool (BPC) and Accounts Payable Platform (Ariba)
  • Data manipulation and data interpretation to enable decision makers to understand the financial implications of business decisions
  • Model scenarios, proposals, initiatives to ensure all costs are included in estimates (Include opex/ capex split) and benefits are captured and measurable
  • Engage with business to regularly monitor performance against budget and assist in developing corrective strategies where necessary
  • Ensure reported results, forecasts and budgets are robust, accurate and prepared in accordance with Medibank and accounting guidelines
