About the role
As a Finance Analyst – Supply Chain & Logistics, you will predominantly support our Transport Leadership team in delivering their strategic plans through providing analytical support and advice across a range of finance activities, supporting to optimise the network and drive commercial outcomes.
You will engage with stakeholders to understand business requirements, whilst providing financial expertise including preparing high quality, accurate and timely reports, and financial modelling for key initiatives.
This is a 15 month maternity leave contract position located in our National Support Office in Burnley, where we provide flexible and hybrid work options.
What’s involved:
- Support and prepare all monthly financial reports for the division, including analysis and KPI reporting
- Support the annual planning and budget cycle through liaising with key stakeholder to ensure accurate and achievable targets are set
- Oversee governance and risk management of costs for the division, escalating any risks to management and working collaboratively with the team to mitigate
- Support general month-end activities for the department such as accuracy of profit and loss statements, preparation of journals, reviewing balance sheets and general ledgers
- Develop, maintain and build relationships within the Supply Chain & Logistics team to understand operational business requirements
Who we’re looking for
You will be a recently qualified accountant, with experience in financial analysis and business partnering, from either a retail/consumer focused, logistics or a professional services business. You will bring demonstrated foundational skills across the finance function and be an effective communicator with well-developed ability and experience engaging with stakeholders (both finance and non-finance) to build trusted relationships, adding strategic and operational value.
You will be commercially minded, data driven, and customer focused, with the ability to utilise financial information and data to tell insightful stories to your business stakeholders and influence positive commercial outcomes. You will be comfortable working in large organisations at pace, with the ability to work autonomously and manage timelines effectively.
You’ll need:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role in either large finance firm or fast-paced finance function, experience or exposure across supply chain, logistics or retail would be highly regarded
- Completion of CPA or CA
- A commerce or business degree with relevant accounting and finance majors
- Strong level of computer literacy including experience across Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as Power BI and Finance Reporting platforms such as TM1, Cognos or similar
- Strong financial modelling experience in a large organisation
