ROLE SUMMARY

Due to internal progression, we’re currently seeking a Financial Analyst to join the Watson Marlow Global Finance team, reporting to the Global Financial Controller. The role will play an important part in supporting the Watson Marlow Business in achieving its goals and objectives including strategic and operational initiatives, by developing analytical capability, evaluating, presenting, communicating financial information and performance metrics as well as forecasting and planning. You will also act as a key Business Partner with regular liaison at high level including the Watson Marlow Executive team, Finance Leadership Team and Functional Leads. It’s an exciting opportunity to make an impact, work in a Global role supporting both Sales and Supply sites and collaborating with all Divisions and Functions across the Watson Marlow Business.

THIS ROLE WILL FOCUS ON:

  • Financial Analysis: Prepare financial analysis to support business decisions, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and scenario modelling. Analyse key performance indicators and financial metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to drive business performance.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the quatertly and annual forecasting and planning cycles. Collaborate with Functional Leads to understand budget requirements and assumptions. Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates on variances and trends.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in financial reporting, including monthly, half-yearly and annual financial reports, variance analysis, and ad-hoc reports as needed. Helping to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Business Partnering: Support with Partnering Functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making. Providing financial support per Function as required i.e. Sustanability, HR, IS.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency. Recommend and implement improvements to financial planning and analysis tools, systems, and methodologies.
  • Strategic and operational initiative and projects: Support with control and reporting of budget and actual spend, and business processes and solutions, including involvement with D365/Project Unity.
  • Finance Support: Temporary finance support for Operating Companies within the Watson Marlow Business may at times be required.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • Qualified CIMA/ACMA/ACA/ACCA. (Non-qualified or Finalists may also be considered if you possess suitable experience and/or a relevant degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics).
  • Experience in financial analysis, preferably in a similarly complex organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial systems and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distil complex financial information into clear and actionable insights.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Project finance skills will prove hugely advantageous.
  • Experience with financial planning software and reporting systems (preferably Power BI) will prove useful.
  • A highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and proactively, as well as collobrate and build relationships.
