REQUIREMENTS:

  • Relevant University degree
  • Experience in a finance, accounting or controlling role preferred
  • Understanding of Accounting principles
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and create concise summaries and action plans
  • Good communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration with business owners
  • Willingness to share best practices within the team, focus on continuous improvement
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Power Query experience is an advantage

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Financial analyst will contribute to the accrual reversal process for the cost area of Airport, Handling and Governmental tax, totalling almost €1.5bn yearly. He / she is expected to deliver analyst and summarises of unexpected cost impacts and to drive the improvement of financial accuracy within the cost area.
The successful candidate will also be expected to drive process improvement initiatives to ensure the timeliness of booking cost impacts and to support the transition towards a newer generation financial system.
The focus of the role will be to catch unexpected costs within the Financial analyst’s markets and to enhance the reliability of financial figures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Examining accruals and invoices booked in Wizz Air’s financial systems on a detailed level and analyzing the deviations from forecasts and budgets and ascertained root causes.
  • Coordinating with the invoice registration partner in case of errors
  • Following up with internal stakeholders to ensure timely billing and collection or credits and applicable discounts
  • Identifying technical issues in system set up and following up with the technical team to ensure resolution.
  • Implementing process improvements
  • Ensuring that relevant internal trackers are always up to date
  • Generating month-end reports on accruals, accrual reversals to be booked and providing explanations and justification for same.
  • Performing Ad-hoc tasks and analysis as instructed by the Division Controller and/or Assistant Division Controller.
  • Actively participating in any systems and process change over of the relevant systems and processes.
