Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Finance Apprentice will support the Financial Controller and the Revenue Controller, the role involves dealing with both internal and external queries. The role being split between Revenue Control and the Accounts department will enable the candidate to have a wide-ranging overview of how a law firm operates. Primary responsibilities include:

DUTIES WITH THE REVENUE CONTROLLER

  • Join meetings with the Revenue Controller and lawyers to review draft bills and ensure regular billing
  • Support the Revenue Controller producing draft bills for lawyer review before billing
  • Facilitate the final billing process – sending approved draft bills to accounts for processing, ensure requests are actioned and final bills sent to secretaries to for distribution to clients
  • Provide work in progress updates for clients and summary statements of outstanding debts
  • Prepare and send lawyers reports of unopened file time to review and action as necessary
  • Review monies held on account on a monthly basis to assess if funds can be used to allocate debts or should be returned to the client

DUTIES WITH THE ACCOUNTS TEAM

  • Assisting the team with production of invoices for both the London and Jersey offices
  • Posting of client related search fees, client invoice amendments, lawyer time transfers and amendments, and other ad hoc requests
  • Providing support for holiday or sickness
