Description:

Our client is a leading engineering consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions. The Finance Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Finance Manager with the daily financial management of the Company.
They will act as a bridge between the Finance department and the internal and external company stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and quick resolution of any queries or concerns.
This is a full-time, permanent position located at our clients head office in Galway City, with a hybrid working option available.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Two years minimum experience as an Account’s Assistant
Qualified Accounting technician or similar.
AP and AR experience
Excellent IT skills with confidence in using Excel & Word
Attention to detail and great numeric skills.
Someone who can work independently as well as a strong team player.
Ability to consistently meet weekly/monthly deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
Experience with Sage 50 accounting system is preferable.

Responsibilities:
Processing purchase invoices.
Raising and issuing sales invoices.
Reconciliation and posting of credit card transactions.
Management and reconciliation of petty cash transactions.
Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations.
Assisting with year-end audit.
Dealing with clients and supplier queries that may arise.
Support the management of the finance department.
And other ad hoc duties that the Finance Manager may assign.
