EXPERIENCE

  • Cash handling experience preferred, ideally in a hotel, restaurant, bar or retail outlet or retail environment
  • Hotel Operations experience in any department beneficial, particularly F&B or Front Desk
  • Previous experience working within a self-accounting hotel in the following disciplines is desirable; Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, General Ledger accounting experience to include month end responsibilities & Balance Sheet reconciliations, Front Office or Reservations

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Timeliness and accuracy in recording and reporting
  • Must possess a high degree of numerical literacy
  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively with clients, suppliers and co-workers.
  • Flexible hours, (Weekend work may apply during month end / yearend/ late shifts may be required)
  • Strong Communication & Negotiation skills (verbal, listening, writing)
  • Ability to follow procedures and LSOPs closely
  • Security and safety in work habits
  • Hands on approach required
  • Flexible team player and strong communicator.
  • Willingness to learn and develop as training will be provided.

EDUCATION OR CERTIFICATION

  • Prior Cash handling experience preferred but not essential
  • Administration experience and Microsoft application knowledge
  • Excel skills to Intermediate level
  • Opera and Micros knowledge preferred
  • Ideally possess an accounting or finance qualification or hospitality qualification
