EXPERIENCE
- Cash handling experience preferred, ideally in a hotel, restaurant, bar or retail outlet or retail environment
- Hotel Operations experience in any department beneficial, particularly F&B or Front Desk
- Previous experience working within a self-accounting hotel in the following disciplines is desirable; Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, General Ledger accounting experience to include month end responsibilities & Balance Sheet reconciliations, Front Office or Reservations
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Timeliness and accuracy in recording and reporting
- Must possess a high degree of numerical literacy
- Ability to verbally communicate effectively with clients, suppliers and co-workers.
- Flexible hours, (Weekend work may apply during month end / yearend/ late shifts may be required)
- Strong Communication & Negotiation skills (verbal, listening, writing)
- Ability to follow procedures and LSOPs closely
- Security and safety in work habits
- Hands on approach required
- Flexible team player and strong communicator.
- Willingness to learn and develop as training will be provided.
EDUCATION OR CERTIFICATION
- Prior Cash handling experience preferred but not essential
- Administration experience and Microsoft application knowledge
- Excel skills to Intermediate level
- Opera and Micros knowledge preferred
- Ideally possess an accounting or finance qualification or hospitality qualification
