Description:
The Finance team, led by the Chief Financial Officer, exists to support the strategic and financial aims of the Institute through the regular planning, controlling and reporting of the financial operations including the Garvan Research Foundation (GRF) and Australian Bioresources (ABR). The short-term focus is on enhancing systems reporting and developing business intelligence metrics to provide key insights which will inform decision-making.

Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for the following duties:
- Partner with cost centre managers and provide financial information and analysis to support decision-making
- Maintain financial integrity in compliance with Garvan policies
- Oversee and measure cost centre performance against KPIs
- Support the Financial Controller and CFO with preparing information for budgets and forecasts
- Prepare financial models and provide analysis as required
- Input into the design of cost-centre dashboards and reports and engage with working groups to enhance systems and processes
- Provide support to non-financial internal customers on finance processes
- Prepare submissions and financial reports for State Government, funding bodies (NHMRC, CINSW, NBCF CCNSW etc.) and other stakeholders
- Provide assistance on all internal and external audits as required
