Finance Consultant (Part-Time)

Looking for a challenge to support a family-owned business where no two days are the same? If so, we have the ideal opportunity for a part-time Finance Consultant. Our Vancouver-based client is a leading design and manufacturing business, and a leader in their field. Reporting directly into the owners, the part-time Finance Consultant will help assess the current state of the business and their operations to ensure that they will be able to successfully pass the business on to the next generation.

SKILLS:

CPA designated professional with at least 10+ years of experience in a senior-leadership position
Prior experience in a business process improvement role and a strong understanding of internal controls, documenting of policies and procedures
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to work in an owner-operator environment
Excellent knowledge of NetSuite is preferred

Assessing the current status of the business including the existing operations, team structure, processes and systems for 5 operating entities
Working alongside with key business stakeholders to implement and document best practices for the business
Performing a deep dive to see how the existing operations are being set-up and establish a regular reporting cycle for the owners to enable them to make business decisions
Partnering with the Controller to ensure that the accounting and finance team are preparing monthly financial statements in an accurate and timely manner
Performing financial analysis related to cash flow and forecasting, and preparing KPIs for the owners
The successful Finance Consultant is someone who is able to drive and lead the accounting and finance team’s performance by identifying areas of improvement, and how to make things more efficient and effective. You will also provide the owners with key deliverables to ensure that the business remains financially viable.
