Description:

Our client is seeking a Finance Consultant to work on a 3 month contract. The key responsibilities of the Finance Consultant are:

  • Lead and organize the Accounting team to produce timely and accurate reporting and analysis as well as ensuring sales tax compliance.
  • Oversee the Corporate Shared Services Program including reviewing and validating the allocations by Business Unit, coordinating relevant communications and preparing analyses as required.
  • Oversee the internal controls program and build rigour and continuous improvements while ensuring alignment with Controls Owners for purposes of controls attestation.
  • Review Accounts Receivable Reporting and collaborate with Business Unit Leaders to facilitate timely collection and manage credit losses.
  • Support the quarterly and year-end financial reporting in preparing Financial Statement Notes, MD& A and other reporting and analysis requirements.
  • Coordinate with the VP, Finance and the Accounting team to review and approve adjustments post-close, including quarterly tax provisions, to record for completeness of quarterly reporting.

The ideal candidate is a designated accountant (CPA or equivalent) with 7+ years of combined public practice and/or hands-on industry experience. You also have the following key criteria for the job:

  • Public company financial reporting and IFRS experience
  • Month-end & quarter-end close experience along with experience preparing financial statements and accompanying notes
  • Self-starter who is proactive and takes initiative
  • Experience in fast-paced and evolving environments
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Adaptable and able to deal with shifting priorities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
