Description:

REPORTING TO FINANCE DIRECTOR

With a track record of continued organic growth, we are now preparing the business for the next stage of transformation. In an increasingly globalising market, the opportunities for the business continue to grow rapidly.
This role will play a crucial role in financial reporting and will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and finance department, ensuring the accuracy of financial data, regulatory compliance and the provision of accurate financial reports.
Focused initially on supporting our current jurisdictions in the UK, Channel Islands, Luxembourg, Ireland and the US, longer-term we expect this role to support the finance team expansion into other regions as the business grows into new geographies.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERTISE:

  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience as a Finance Controller, Finance Manager or similar.
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge and skills with a high level of numeracy.
  • Highly competent in managing financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems.
  • Proven ability to produce accurate financial reports to specific deadlines.
  • Demonstrable commercial ability with strong business awareness and the ability to advise stakeholders of any financial changes affecting the business.
  • Excellent presentation skills with a proven ability to interpret financial data.
  • Previous finance transformation experience is highly desirable.
  • Excellent team management and strong leadership skills, with proven capability in managing the work of others, delegating where needed.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team and build strong working relationships at all levels.
  • Extensive working knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
  • Proven ability to develop strong external relationship with appropriate contacts such as Auditors, Solicitors, Bankers, and Statutory Organisations such as the Inland Revenue.
  • Proficient IT skills with the ability to use main accounting and office software packages competently, including the Microsoft suite.
  • Previous Experience in Workday and 3E is highly desirable.
  • Adaptable to change with a willingness to embrace innovative ideas and new processes.
  • Able to make quick and rational decisions under pressure.
  • Thorough and methodical attention to detail.
  • Ability to take an analytical approach to tasks.
  • Ability to prioritise with good time management skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fully qualified Accountant with a qualification from an institution such as ICAEW, ICAS, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, IFA or similar is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all company accounts and investments and all financial control activities, including the production, review and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and disclosures.
  • Manage treasury operations and the cashflow.
  • Provide timely, accurate and comprehensive financial information.
  • Play a key role in the roll out of a new ERP system.
  • Review the processes and controls in place to ensure the integrity of the Group’s ledger.
  • Summarise the actual results, while reporting and explaining variances.
  • Act as the point of contact for external auditors, including providing the external auditors with the necessary documentation and support.
  • Manage the tax preparation duties and liaise with external tax accountants for tax preparation, where applicable.
  • Ensure the business meets the necessary tax, permit and licencing requirements.
  • Manage, mentor, and motivate the finance controlling and reporting team.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices.
