Boxer Superstores is seeking two experienced Finance Controllers to join our team—one based at Boxer’s Cape Town Distribution Center and the other at our East London Distribution Center. As a Finance Controller, you’ll be instrumental in managing financial risk and upholding the integrity of our financial policies and procedures. You’ll lead the compilation and analysis of reports, present weekly profit and loss statements against budget targets, collaborate closely with our head office finance teams, oversee general ledger postings, forecast against budget targets, and spearhead staff management and consumable expense management initiatives. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA or CMA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance controller or similar role.
- Proficiency in SAP Finance.
- Strong understanding and management of financial risk and compliance.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and macros.
- Demonstrated financial analysis problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information.
- Strong mathematical and accounting skills, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Compile reports from internal staff on a weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Analyse and report on financial data, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Ensure the accuracy of financial reports, implementing rigorous checks and balances.
- Present weekly profit and loss statements against budget targets, highlighting key variances and trends.
- Liaise with head office finance teams to ensure the accuracy of monthly profit and loss statements.
- Manage general ledger postings to ensure completeness and accuracy, maintaining compliance with accounting standards.
- Forecast against budget targets on a weekly basis, incorporating various factors and adjusting strategies as needed.
- Lead staff management initiatives, providing guidance and support to the finance team.
- Manage consumable expenses, optimizing costs while maintaining quality and efficiency.
