Title of the position: Finance Coordinator
MaKami College is growing and has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Coordinator to join our team. As an integral member of the Finance team, you will be supporting the analysis and interpretation of data to drive informed decision-making and improve institutional effectiveness. You will work closely with a variety of internal stakeholders in various business areas to gather, analyze, and present data insights that support student success initiatives, new and existing program process and procedure, while streamlining operational effectiveness. You will also be required to assist students in determining government loan eligibility and ensure student loan applications are complete.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of applicable experience within an educational environment would be an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Experience with data analysis tools and programming languages such as Excel, SQL, Python, R, or MATLAB.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into actionable insights for diverse audiences.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Experience or coursework in statistical analysis. Data modeling is a plus.
- Previous experience in higher education or instructional design is preferred but not required

Terms of Employment: Full Time permanent position

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with various departments to collect, validate, and organize data from different sources including student information systems, surveys, financial information systems, and external sources.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and completeness through regular audits and validation processes.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and relationships within datasets.
- Perform statistical analysis and hypothesis testing to extract meaningful insights from data.
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate key findings and performance metrics to stakeholders.
- Assist in conducting research studies and surveys to support institutional research projects and academic program evaluations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address data-related needs and initiatives.
- Communicate findings and insights effectively to internal stakeholders through written reports, presentations, and meetings.
- Stay informed about emerging trends, best practices, and advancements in data analysis techniques and tools.
- Participate in professional development opportunities such as workshops, webinars, and conferences to enhance skills and knowledge in data analytics and research methodologies.
- Providing information, guidance, and assistance to students on funding and the financial aid application processes.
- Ensure student loan applications are complete, relevant documentation submitted and funds are secured.
- Monitor the status of all pending student loans
