QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in one of the following fields, i.e., Accounting, Business Administration, and/or Economics, etc.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • > 10 years of experience in financial and management accounting, preferrable in the manufacturing industry
  • > 2 years of experience in management of strategy and budget at a headquarters level
  • > 2 years of experience in finance in the global company
  • > 2 years of experience in tax planning in the global company
  • > 10 years of experience in accounting using SAP
  • Accounting experience in publicly listed companies in Japan

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate, influence and manage the interests of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand multiple divisional/business portfolios and positions from a global perspective, identify profit drivers, and translate it into strategic plans.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of corporate finance.
  • International tax and local tax regulations in various countries.
  • Basic IFRS/USGAAP knowledge and experience.
  • Internal control compliance.
  • Experience in accounting and financial closing using SAP or other EPR systems.

Responsibilities:

SUMMARY OF ROLE

As a key member of HOYA’s Group Finance, supporting the GCFO, this person is responsible for the group’s financial activities, and he/she/they will act as both a strategic partner and financial gatekeeper for the group. While ensuring governance, he/she/they will drive corporate value through strategic decision-making pertaining to investment and financial activities within the group.

KEY ROLE PRIORITIES

  • Responsible for overseeing financial operations, strategic decision-making, governance, and control of Group Finance in HOYA’s global network.
  • Manage intercompany loan operations based on financial plans, with the consideration of Group Finance’s methodologies.
  • Identify and manage tax risks and develop opportunities for tax and organizational structuring.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with other internal stakeholders, i.e., Finance, Tax, HR, ERP, and Legal teams, on various financial and operational matters.
  • Responsible for developing and managing relationships with external stakeholders, i.e., banks, auditors, and tax advisors.
  • Responsible for managing tax audits, structuring deals, and developing frameworks to mitigate financial risks.
  • Responsible for assessing investments proposed by divisions and/or business units and guiding decisions based on risk assessments, cashflow plans, robust analyses on ROIs, with recommendations on appropriate financing structures.
  • Responsible for monitoring investments and implementing appropriate and timely solutions to ensure ROI.
  • Manage a financial unit that will oversee accounting and treasury activities.
  • Responsible for driving and/or supporting the implementation of global finance initiatives.
