Description:

Position Summary: Arcadium Lithium is looking for a Manager, Finance and ESG Reporting to lead the Irish finance function and the Global ESG reporting. In this role, you will report to our Chief Accounting Officer and ensure the completion of Ireland and UK statutory financial statements, tax reporting (provision, returns compliance, VAT/GST) and local ESG/Sustainability reporting requirements for our various international legal entities.
The role is responsible for executing accounting activities in accordance with financial standards, Arcadium Lithium policies, SOX and other regulatory requirements. The position is also responsible for supporting the implementation of standardized procedures & protocols, process improvements and optimization initiatives across the group.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A four-year degree in Accounting or Finance required; master degree preferred
  • CPA certification or EU equivalent, preferred
  • Understanding of Ireland and Jersey statutory and tax filing requirements
  • 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with a preference toward time spent in the chemicals and/or manufacturing industry

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience working and leading large accounting teams which supported multi-national businesses
  • Experience with the execution and submission of statutory reporting under IFRS
  • Knowledge of the new global ESG and Sustainability directives its application in the EU, APAC, and US
  • Strong knowledge of technical accounting requirements as well as operational accounting practices
  • Knowledge, insight and experience in complex multi-company and multi-currency accounting processes
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze complex business problems to develop appropriate solutions in a timely and responsive nature
  • Knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, SOX and internal controls standards
  • Experience workings with an ERP system, preferably SAP
  • MS-Office, SAP technology experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including people management

Responsibilities:

General Accounting Responsibilities

  • Lead local financial reporting close activities in accordance with the month-end close calendar and checklist. Ensure timely submission and compliance.
  • Provide expertise on the treatment of accounting and tax transactions and related financial reporting requirements under IFRS and local GAAP. The main areas of risk include intercompany loans and transactions, cash forecasting, foreign exchange, VAT/GST reporting, and the local tax provision.
  • Assist with the production and preparation of consolidated and legal entity monthly financial statements
  • Assist with Local Treasury and Accounts Payable: review daily cash (collections and payments), align with Treasury US about cash needs and approvals, provide cash projection and cash actuals monthly, identify FX Exposures and report to Corporate, identify local needs and manage local process with Banks.
  • Provide guidance and engage in continuous learning as it relates to the Environmental, Sustainability, and Governance (ESG) requirements of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
  • Provide leadership within the accounting operations and financial reporting function
  • Design and implement effective accounting policies, procedures & controls
  • Provide guidance and research on accounting transactions.
  • Design and implement informative financial reports to meet the needs of the business
  • Provide analysis on financial results (actual vs. budget, trends, work drivers, benchmarks)
  • Evaluate the accounting or financial reporting impact of operational decisions
  • Recommend and assist in the development of financial systems solutions & requirements for new or enhancements to existing applications
  • Support the Senior Manager, Global Accounting Operations to drive standardization, process improvement and optimization across the group
  • Assist Finance and the operating business units with Accounting
  • Assist with the execution of quarterly reviews and year-end financial audits
  • Drive to continuously improve the accounting and reporting process
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS and local accounting rules and tax/ state regulations, where applicable
  • Ensure compliance with Arcadium Lithium accounting policies, procedures and processes
  • Operate within a robust SOX and internal control environment
