Description:
To provide a full financial management service to specified directorates, which will involve
managing the budget setting process, producing, and presenting complex financial
information, providing expert advice and support relating to all aspects of their finances.
Responsibilities:
Providing timely and accurate financial data to directorates regarding their financial
position on a monthly and ad-hoc basis.
Analysing and interpreting the financial position of the directorates, advising the
Management Team on areas of poor performance and supporting them to take corrective actions where necessary.
Preparing and presenting financial information and analysis to support future investment decisions ensuring that they deliver the required financial return.
Providing expert financial advice to directorates, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and integrity of processes.
Developing the financial and commercial awareness of the organisation’s directorates.
Acting as a role model, promoting professional standards and attitudes throughout the Finance Directorate.
To provide financial information, advice and support to Directorates within the organisation, meeting regularly with members of the management team to ensure that the financial position of the Directorate and the Trust is understood and that any potential financial problems are identified early enough for corrective action to be taken.
To have overall responsibility for all aspects of financial management within their nominated directorates in conjunction with senior management, including monitoring of performance and providing advice on corrective action as necessary.
To play an integral part in the reporting of the short and long term directorate financial forecasts.
To advise the directorate on any government policy or legislative changes that may result in higher costs or savings for the Trust giving advice on how to counter any possible adverse effect.
Using and developing Service Line Reporting to engage senior directorate management and other staff for establishing efficient and high quality services.
To ensure financial implications for service change within the directorates are evaluated through the approved business case process and benefits are delivered.
To assist in the development, quantification and maintenance of the directorates Cost Improvement Plan working with the PMO to develop a multi-year plan.
