AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR AN EXPERIENCED FINANCE MANAGER (FM) TO JOIN THE BBC STUDIOS GROUP FINANCE TEAM ON A 4 MONTH FTC BASIS.

The FM will support the Head of Group Finance- FP&A and Reporting, and will be vital in enabling understanding of group results and shaping the executive management reporting of the Group. Together with another FM, the FM will be responsible for all aspects of internal reporting, namely reporting of key financial KPIs for actuals, forecasts and budget to the CFO, the BBCS Executive Committee (SEC), Commercial Board and BBC Group, as well as other ad hoc analysis and reporting. It will also require ongoing review of business reporting solutions and forecasting practices, making recommendations for improvements and driving these to implementation.
The FM will be prominent and highly visible in the finance community, guiding peers and being a subject matter expert for a variety of financial processes and the role will enable the individual to develop a deep understanding of the global BBCS business.   • Experienced financial professional.
  • Professional accounting qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
  • Proactive in approach to building relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical skills, with ability to convert analysis into meaningful insight.
  • Able to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels and across all functions within the organisation.
  • Strong management skills and experience in delivering to tight deadlines and multiple stakeholders.
  • Post-qualification experience within a television production and distribution environment, Group consolidation experience, and systems experience with S/4HANA, SAC, BPC, are preferable but not is essential.

Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

Month end reporting including managing and reviewing consolidated management accounts. Deliverables include accurate and high quality consolidated monthly and quarterly performance reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including CFO, SEC and BBC Group.
Ownership and management of all actuals and planning cycles, including developing, communicating and implementing of reporting requirements, guidance, policies and timetables; liaising with technical teams to manage the end to end process and close; and providing advice and resolving queries on a timely basis.
Delivering streamlined and robust group-wide budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring that these are subject to appropriate challenge and analysis, and managing internal stakeholders to maintain accountability for execution of the plan.
Business partnering to BBCS Executive Committee and CFO by evaluating performance, for all financial KPIs, with particular focus on EBITDA. Cash flow responsibility sits with the other FM this role sits alongside.
Identifying, and driving to implementation improvements to the management information, financial systems and decision making practices across the Group, including supporting the Head of Finance in building the Group reporting function and delivering continual improvements.
Work closely with the wider Group Finance team to ensure efficiency of reporting and alignment, particularly with other FMs within the team, on cash and balance sheet reporting, long range plan, technical accounting, and system consolidation.
Management of two Finance Analysts, including setting objectives and development.
