Description:
Our reputable client is seeking a Finance Manager to join the company for an interim opportunity. Join our team on a contract basis for 3 months minimum, where you will be responsible for providing the required financial information, analysis, and advice in order to make financially sound decisions, working closely with management in various business groups. In addition, the Finance Manager will be tasked with the responsibility of articulating the financial results at the end of each reporting period and for each planning cycle.
Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU GET TO DO EVERY SINGLE DAY:
Drive financial performance by developing operating and financial metrics, analyzing results and trends to create impactful insights, reporting results to executive leadership and key stakeholders, and improving forecasting and modelling accuracy.
Manage the preparation of materials related to detailed business unit projections and highlight risks/opportunities.
Manage internal and external financial reporting requirements, producing executive-level management reporting, summarizing findings and recommendations.
Manage the treasury function.
Work with business unit leaders for the completeness and accuracy of the material inputs to the company financial model and overall business strategy.
Oversee payroll.
Support the management of 3 operational accounting and payroll professionals, overseeing their work and ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE ARE:
Accounting work experience in the Public Sector and a knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Standards.
2+ years of people development and leadership experience
CPA or oversees accounting designation required.
Working knowledge of Sage 300 would be an asset.
Advanced MS Excel skills required, including V-lookups and Pivot Tables.
Strong communication (written and verbal) skills to interact effectively and clearly in a fast-changing environment.
