Description:
Job Purpose: The successful candidate will plan, manage, implement and review controls and processes necessary to manage the Group wide ESG Reporting obligations at local and aggregated level across a subsidiary portfolio of 200+ entities. Initially focus on facilitating the rollout of a Group wide ESG reporting software, this role transitions into a continuous evaluation of the Groups ESG metrics against targets and goals, aiming to enhance ESG ratings and align with sustainable financing KPIs.
This role drives the financial quantification of ESG risks and supports the adoption of ESG reporting standards. Strategically the role supports the analysis the ESG risks in a business unit, identifying solutions, mitigating risk and ESG reporting and compliance with existing and emerging international standards like CSRD & ISSB. Aligning of the ESG agenda across the group to drive consistency and organisational resilience.
Responsibilities:
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Conceptualise and assist with the design and implementation of a cost effective and efficient processing infrastructure to handle exceptionally large volumes of ESG data, identify and analyse areas of ESG risks and achieve compliance with reporting standards.
- Prepare, implement and monitor reporting procedures and recommend software developments that enhance efficiency and effectiveness while ensuring that the data quality is maintained. This entails working with different stakeholders to rollout and implement a ESG Reporting software to group companies, providing training, technical and functional support, developing and maintaining a SOPs and users manual.
- Responsible for consolidation of ESG data and delivery of the consolidated ESG reports from diverse Group companies with disparate systems and local reporting requirements. Drive conceptualization of reports and effective utilization of BI tools available, support integration of source systems into ESG reporting software.
- Plan and execute the Group ESG audit for the assigned group companies and ensure it is in line with the deliverables set by senior management. Support the audit processes as required and resolve any queries put forth by the auditors which may entail amending procedures if necessary.
- Interpretation, application and compliance with ISSB, CSRD, UNGC and other local or regional emerging ESG reporting standards.
- Guide CEOs, CFOs and Sustainability teams in assigned group companies in their ESG disclosure obligations and ensure alignment with group. This entails development of training materials and awareness programmes to support with fluency and capacity building across the organisation.
- Assist in the preparation of ESG reports in line with global standards and regulations (such as GRI, ISSB, UNGC & CSRD) aswell as other annual compliance activities, including EU ETS and CORSIA. Align group wide narratives in responses to sustainability rating agencies, banks and counterparty questionnaires.
- Support the Manager ESG Finance in the development and implementation of the Group’s ESG reporting strategy, integration of financial impacts of ESG risks, monitoring of ESG trends, regulations and benchmarks and assess implications for the Group’s business strategy as well as emerging climate-related financial risks.
- Drive regular materiality assessments of the assigned portfolio companies, to support in the identification of ESG risks and opportunities that may impact the Group’s financial performance and reputation.
- Conduct ESG due diligence across the ESG verticals and monitoring of assigned group companies and LOBs, evaluating ESG performance and identifying areas of improvement and alignment with aim of incorporating climate-related financial risks into financial planning, budgeting and investment decision-making processes.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, YOU MUST MEET THE BELOW REQUIREMENTS:
- Finance & Insurance/Accounts : 8+ Years
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) : Degree preferably in a related subject i.e. Accounting, Regulatory Compliance, ESG Experience from either a global finance organization working with ESG and/or IFRS compliance and/or from a Big4 firm working within Sustainable Finance.
- Experience in Finance, Economics, Climate Science, Audit
