Description:
EDUCATION
- Educated to degree level
- Specialist accounting qualification equivalent to ACA/ACCA in the UK
EXPERIENCE
- Required: A minimum of 5 years of finance and accounting experience – leadership of a finance function
- Desired: Experience in the Life Sciences industry and / or part of an international group
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Proficient user of Excel (i.e., financial models and analysis); experience with IFS ERP (or equivalent), PowerPoint, and Hyperion is desired
- Working understanding of financial accounting standards and internal controls
- Fluent in English both verbal and written
- On site 3 or more days per week
Responsibilities:
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
- Partner with business / site leadership in driving business performance to meet short- and long-term objectives.
- Implement reporting, budgeting, forecasting activities in support of the business.
- Analyze financial and business performance against key business metrics and supervise pertinent financial highlights that will enable understanding of progress against strategic / business plan and budgets
- Perform monthly closing activities including journal entries, accruals, reporting and analysis
- Support internal and external audit requirements
- Payroll review and treasury management
- Drive continuous improvement and use systems to increase controls and efficiencies
- Report into Protein Diagnostics HQ finance team
- Management of the DACH finance team
- Coordination of tax, VAT and legal filings with the German and Swiss authorities and resolution of tax issues as and when they arise
- Provide commercial finance support to the business including during tenders, contract negotiations and pricing decisions
- Where requested ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, company policy and standard operating procedure; recommends changes to strengthen control environment
