We are looking for a detail-oriented finance professional to join our dynamic team. You will collaborate with colleagues across Finance to provide guidance and support on specific areas such as the Fixed Asset Register, VAT procedures and monthly/quarterly statutory returns.
Your experience in analysing and reporting financial data will enable you to work with experienced finance professionals, allowing you to gain exposure to a wide range of financial tasks and responsibilities.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a Finance Officer who is actively studying AAT or an equivalent qualification and has experience in analysing and reporting financial data. The ideal candidate will possess excellent accuracy and attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Excel and Outlook, along with strong written and oral communication skills, is essential. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, be customer-focused and proactive with high motivation, and have the ability to identify and develop new ways of working.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Finance Officer, you will assist the Financial Accountant with financial statements and year-end processes, reconcile balance sheet control accounts, and maintain relevant registers. You will support annual financial audits and provide necessary data analysis, manage bank mandates and online banking user lists, and generate daily cash updates while contributing to cashflow forecasting.
Your role will include handling monthly and quarterly statutory returns, including VAT and Corporation Tax, maintaining, and updating the Fixed Asset Register, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies.
Additionally, you will provide guidance and training to finance staff on audit evidence and VAT procedures, support the University’s insurance processes, manage the Gift Register, and keep the finance pages of the intranet up to date with relevant information.
