ABOUT THE COMPANY:

The English Teachers’ Association of NSW (ETA NSW) is a professional association of teachers committed to stimulating and elevating the teaching and language profession across Australia. They are currently seeking a part-time Finance Officer to join their team.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or business
  • Recent experience in a similar role with financial accounting and reporting
  • Experience with preparing monthly and annual reports, sub-ledger accounts and accounts reconciliations
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Effective written and verbal communication, with strong ability to write cohesive reports
  • Experience on a integrated Financial Management Information system preferred, experience with MYOB desirable
  • Previous experience in a NFP, Association or Education based environment desirable

Responsibilities:

  • Finance Management of ETA NSW, including but not limited to; BAS, GST, reporting of BAS and PAYG
  • Generating invoices, following up on overdue invoices
  • Employee salaries, super, staff expenses, bills, reconciling company credit cards, bank transactions and petty cash
  • Oversee association finances to achieve plan and deliver budgeted profit
  • Association wide budgeting and consistent reviewing to ensure budgets are being met not exceeded
  • Support managers in optimization of resource allocations
  • develop and track budgets across operational areas
  • Report to board and management on financial performance, producing monthly and quarterly reports
