Description:
This position supports and collaborates with the Senior Director of Finance and Operations to help the organization fulfill its mission, duties, and responsibilities. The Finance and Operations Associate will be crucial in supporting the Finance and Operations department in various administrative and operational tasks and contribute to the organization’s overall administrative efficiency. This position will also manage the day-to-day operations of the organization’s annual corporate and charitable registrations. The Finance and Operations Associate reports directly to the Senior Director of Finance and Operations. This is a full-time remote position with in-person meetings and travel as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERRED SKILLS
- Associate degree in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of accounting experience; or High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Some professional experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to interpret and apply accounting principles to complex financial transactions, along with general payroll knowledge, is preferred
- Additional experience with nonprofit financial accounting and human resources is a plus.
- Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to communicate (oral or written) with the appropriate persons effectively to obtain information needed to perform duties
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in Quickbooks Online and Google Workspace, including knowledge of general software programs and the ability to quickly learn other applications
- Capable of working with the various departments and staff located across locations/time zones
- Self-motivated with the ability to drive projects effectively and promptly
- Ability to effectively handle challenging projects in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of annual corporate and charitable registrations to keep the organization compliant and in good standing
- Assist with the financial and reporting processes for donations and expenditure transactions through Quickbooks Online
- Aid in developing and improving financial policies and procedures
- Assist in reviewing and analyzing financial performance and trends
- Help prepare financial reports and Board meeting updates
- Assist with maintaining, organizing, and updating financial files
- Assist the Finance & Operations department with identifying and implementing nonprofit financial accounting best practices
- Ensure that onboarding and offboarding processes are consistent and streamlined
- Assist with maintaining, organizing, and updating RCVRC employee files as needed
- Aid in refining and implementing HR practices within the organization to ensure high employee retention and work satisfaction
