The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Finance Solution Consultant to join our team on a 6 month contract with possibility of an extension, dependent on business needs. In this role you have the opportunity to work from home, with a requirement to attend the office on an ad hoc basis.
The Finance Solution Consultant is accountable to support to drive the design and implementation of enhanced financial control framework across the organization.
The role will involve transforming and simplifying the existing financial accounting and operational processes, systems, and policies to ensure compliance, efficiency, and accuracy across the Australia and New Zealand business. The role will work closely with a variety of subject matter experts as well as the finance transformation squads to align the financial control objectives to support the strategic vision of Resolution Life Australasia.
Additionally, the role will build the quality control and governance framework with the outsourced partners who provide financial accounting and operations support to the organization.
Your Story

To successfully execute all components of this role, the candidate should have, or be able to develop, a solid working knowledge of the following:

  • Develop and execute a roadmap to transform and simplify the financial accounting and finance operations tasks, including defining scope, milestones, timeline, and deliverables
  • Simplify and enhance financial control processes and framework that covers all aspects of the financial reporting cycle, such as data quality, reconciliation, consolidation, audit, and disclosure
  • Ensure that the new financial control framework complies with the relevant accounting standards,
  • regulatory requirements, and internal policies for the Australia and New Zealand business
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators and metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the financial control processes and systems
  • Identify and mitigate any risks, issues, or gaps in the financial control function and escalate them as appropriate
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with other senior leaders and stakeholders across the organization, such as finance, operations, IT, legal, and audit
  • Collaborate with various subject matter experts, such as financial accountants, reconciliations specialist, business analysts, system developers, auditors, and external consultants, to ensure the quality and integrity of the financial data and reports
  • Build and oversee a control and governance framework with the outsourced partners, ensuring that they adhere to the agreed service level agreements, quality standards, and risk management protocols
  • Communicate and report on the progress, status, and outcomes of the financial control transformation to the senior leaders of finance

Key competencies required

  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in financial control, accounting, or audit, preferably in a large and complex organization
  • Proven track record of leading and delivering large-scale transformation and simplification projects in the financial control domain
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standard

Ideal experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred
  • Expert knowledge of the financial reporting cycle, accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal control best practices for the Australia and New Zealand business
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
