YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA and tertiary qualifications in finance or accounting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain a variety of stakeholder relationships, both internal and external.

Responsibilities:

  • Participating and contributing to financial accounting requirements and reporting projects
  • Supporting the Finance team to meet all obligations from statutory, internal, and external reporting standpoint.
  • Assisting the external audit process. This is achieved through provision of information, resolving queries, managing any investigations where necessary, chasing information from the business, and assisting with any other queries arising from the audit process.
  • Assisting in the preparation of statutory financial statements which are compliant with relevant accounting standards (AIFRS NZ IFRS) and legislation instruments for e.g., the Australian Corporations Act, NZ Companies Act.
  • Assisting in the consolidation of the trial balance into our head office reporting tool
  • Delivering external and internal group reporting obligations in a timely manner and in accordance with applicable accounting and reporting requirements. These may include balance sheet, income, and cash flows statements, along with consolidation entries.
  • Managing the preparation and lodgement of direct tax requirements with our external accounting firm, following up on queries that may arise.
  • Recognising and enhancing processes, procedures, and systems with the view to improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of reporting.
  • Ensuring compliance with technical accounting and regulatory requirements by the Equans Group.
