Description:

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to become a key member of our Financial Control & Accountability team based in London. This is a full time permanent position with hybrid working 2 days from home and 3 days in our Regent street office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing monthly reporting figures within our European markets (depending on the candidate’s experience and abilities), requiring a close working relationship with the whole finance team and the wider business, including store colleagues and headquarter teams.
What you will be responsible for
- IFRS reporting, including additional quarterly and annual disclosures
- Implementing and monitoring J-SOX controls
- Preparing monthly journals and reconciliations for designated markets, and leading month end P&L reviews and balance sheet analysis meetings
- Holding regular discussions with Corporate Planning to aid P&L management and business insight, whilst actively seeking cost saving initiatives for designated markets or the European business as a whole
- Presenting key findings on a monthly basis to the COOs for the assigned markets
- Coaching and training our centralised accounting and AP functions dealing with transactional processes (Global Finance function, in Kuala Lumpur)
- Building relationships with store management and the EC business to identify potential accounting issues and to aid management’s understanding of their P&Ls
- Taking ownership of the compliance for designated countries including local reporting requirements, coordination with third party tax consultants, VAT data and local questionnaires on business statistics
Experience
- Qualified Accountant or at final stage of ACCA or ACA qualification (or equivalent)
- Retail experience is desirable, but practical IFRS experience is preferred
- Experience of working with outsourced operations would be beneficial
- Expert knowledge of balance sheet and P&L account classifications
Skills
- Computer literate with expert knowledge of Excel
- Fluent in English; any additional European language would be a plus
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the business
