Description:
Our client, a food proudction company, with a rich history spanning five decades in the Maritimes is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join its team.
Responsibilities:
- Execute Month-End Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all month-end balance sheet account reconciliations, addressing discrepancies promptly.
- Conduct Variance Analysis: Thoroughly analyze expense and revenue accounts, identifying trends, outliers, and potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Contribute to Financial Statement Preparation: Provide crucial support in preparing monthly financial statements.
- Annual Review Support: Collaborate with a 3rd party accounting firm for the annual review, taking a lead role in ensuring timely completion of year-end statements.
- Assist in Forecasting and Budgeting: Contribute to the preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.
- System Enhancements: Support continuous improvement in technology use, facilitating process streamlining and manual activity automation.
- Drive Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to enhance accounting processes, fostering increased efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation or in progresss
- A strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent MS Excel skills
