Responsibilities:

As a Financial Accountant with Hines, you will be responsible for managing project treasury functions and financials requirements, including month-end closure procedures, preparing & posting journals, reconciliations, budget variance analysis, ensuring project financials are maintained appropriately and providing support to the business project managers and Finance team.

  • Carry out month-end closing procedures including preparation of account
  • Carry out month-end closing procedures including preparation of account reconciliations & financials, posting of journal entries, and organizing supporting documents.

  • Assist the Property Manager and Senior Accountant to ensure accuracy of journal entries and general ledger.


  • Assist with the treasury functions.

  • Assist in annual plan/budget preparation process by preparing revenue projections and variance analysis for certain accounts.

  • Perform Statutory Obligations.

  • Works closely with Asset/Project Managers and Senior Accountants to ensure accuracy of Funding Notices, spend trackers and financial reporting.

  • Manage Project reported positions to ensure compliance with AASB / IFRS, and alignment to JV agreements & Deeds.

  • Assist throughout the half-year and year-end audit processes through providing necessary support, answering queries, and assisting with financial statement preparation.

  • Work on ad-hoc projects alongside the wider finance team.

  • Act as the gatekeeper for all financial and contract aspects related to projects.
    Qualifications:
    Minimum Requirements include:
-

A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting & Finance) and working towards CPA/CA

  • 3+ years of experience in similar roles within the real-estate / construction industry.

  • A solid knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts and standards (IFRS /AASB).


  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Analytical capability with strengths in identifying and implementing continuous improvement.

  • Strong contract management knowledge as well as a strong understanding of project costing.

  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

  • Oracle & JD Edwards systems experience advantageous.
