Job Title: Financial Accountant, Revenue and Marketing – (Maternity Cover)
Reports to: Director of Finance
Location: Head Office, Drogheda, Co Louth
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 3 years PQE
- Exceptional communication skills, strong focus on customer service both internal and external, self-starter with the ability to embrace change and process improvement
- Experience in a high-growth environment preferably in fast-moving-consumer-goods (FMCG)
- Experience reporting to senior management.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills with the ability to manage several priorities at once.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with a strong desire to succeed.
- Excellent attention to detail and experience working to tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop & nurture relationships across the entire business.
- Continuously strive to improve how we operate by streamlining processes or eliminating inefficiencies.
- Proven record of achievement, with specific examples of process improvement achievements
- Experience in large ERP systems an advantage
- Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills are a significant advantage
- An analytical proactive thinker who can delve into detail to capture, summarise and present key issues
- Fluency (spoken and written) in English is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Financial Accountant role is a critical position in the Finance team which will report to the Director of Finance & work closely with other members of the senior management team. A key part of this highly visible role is to provide business data and analysis to managers within the organisation to assist in business decision-making and control and to summarise and present key issues as they arise.
MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Controller of Revenue Recognition Process & Marketing costs
- Communication with Global Sales & Marketing teams
- Support & influence the Commercial Teams & sales organisation to maximise Net Sales Value.
- Reconciliation of remittances against promotional agreements
- Ensure an accurate sales accruals process by overseeing the promotions tracker.
- Maintenance of a database of customer contracts, LTAs, settlement agreements, trade supports etc.
- Assist with the implementation of the New ERP System.
- Work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure that month-end is completed to an excellent standard in a timely manner.
- Ensure month-end time frames are understood by all other functions and their relevant contributions are provided on time.
- Take a lead role in the annual external Audit for all companies.
- End-of-month sales reconciliations between the ERP system, Power BI and reporting tool
- Ensuring discount models are set up within the ERP system and understood by all stakeholders
- Review the coding on sales invoices and question any major deductions or unusual amounts that are out of line with contracted rates
- Assist the commercial teams by identifying business challenges and providing analysis to support decision making
- Ensure Revenue recognition follows all accounting standards
- Maintaining and continuously improving an exceptional standard of internal controls.
- Assist in the annual budget process, working with budget owners to plan requirements, consolidation of data and report back to the Director of Finance.
- VAT and Customs compliance
- Liaise with marketing teams to ensure spend in line with budget
- Actively participate in ongoing finance-related IT developments, collaborating in a cross-functional team. Be an innovative thinker with a willingness to suggest new ideas to complement and enhance existing processes.
- Develop and implement optimised and standardised routines, tools, and processes to drive performance within the finance function.
- Lead and develop a team of one, offering guidance and support.
- Support the Director of Finance & Finance Manager to meet the business needs, as required.
- Involvement in ad hoc projects as required.
