Our client in Peel Region is actively looking for Financial Analyst to join their team.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • University degree in Business/Accounting, with professional accounting designation (CA/CMA/CGA) or equivalent direct experience.
  • 3-5 years experience in budgeting, management reporting and variance analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (i.e. v-lookups, pivot tables, macros) and experience with financial systems integration.
  • Highly motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a high degree of intellectual curiosity and proven leadership skills.
  • Strategic thinking/advisor and curious learner
  • Business acumen/decision-making skills and analytical capability
  • Understanding of the activities that will drive value in the business
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic environment, recommend and implement process improvements, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to partner with other leaders in the business to achieve corporate goals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Effective attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Extensive experience and understanding in a retail and/or multi-unit industry and/or multi-product line environment is an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by working with Senior Management and individual departmental leads to ensure that budgets are realistic, accurate and comply with business objectives.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to create efficiencies and improve processes
  • Provide analysis of external economic conditions and their impact on business operations (e.g., inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, etc.)
  • Monitor performance metrics for the business and functional departments
  • Support in implementing planning and analysis tools to enhance reporting activities, including creating and maintaining various financial planning models used within the Organization.
  • Streamline sales and financial reports and reporting processes to deliver more efficient, effective and value-added reporting.
  • Manage the capital and fixed asset processes.
  • Work with internal departments and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities in cost management and process efficiency.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial close processes
  • Other related duties as required or assigned.
