Description:

Aston Carter’s large financial services client in Vancouver is seeking a Financial Analyst for a 6 month contract with potential to extend or go permanent. The ideal candidate is an intermediate level FP&A professional, is an open learner and loves to collaborate and learn with a close-knit team in a high growth environment. Ideally, this candidate is passionate and dedicated at what they do with an entrepreneurial mindset, a roll up your sleeves work ethic and a ready to hit the ground running attitude.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Must Haves:

  • 2 years Financial Analyst experience (presenting data, supporting decision making, budgeting/forecasting, variance analysis, reporting, financial modeling, dashboarding experience, working with large data sets)
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Advanced Excel proficiency

Nice to Haves:

  • Workday Adaptive software experience
  • Macros experience
  • Public practice experience

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare assigned financial and management reporting, and the development of new reports as appropriate.
  • Work with large sets of data.
  • Forecasts and variance analyses, compare financial results to plan and forecast, identify variances, drivers and explain results.
  • Assist in the annual and ongoing budget and forecasting process.
  • Carry out decision support investigation, analysis and reporting as pertinent opportunities or situations arise.
  • Assist with a wide variety of ad hoc research, modelling and analysis as required for regulatory or decision support purposes.
  • Assist with process improvement projects, such as financial planning system enhancements.
  • Special projects as assigned.
