We have a challenging and rewarding career opportunity for a Financial Analyst to take accountability for the support of CGI business units and their operations by delivering sound, well-documented analyses, project and contract accounting treatment rationale, forecasts and reconciliations.
Reporting directly into the Business Unit Finance group, you will be primarily responsible for partnering with operational leadership and finance colleagues to deliver accurate, timely and highly valued accounting and financial support.

Responsibilities:

YOUR FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide analytical support for budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring well-documented financial plans and analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with business unit partners to understand their business, help them understand their financial drivers, and constructively challenging assumptions.
  • Deliver accurate, timely analysis of financial results compared to forecasts and budgets.
  • Manage project and client finances based on contract terms, understanding financial implications and technical accounting impacts.
  • Present financial results with clear, insightful commentary to business unit stakeholders.
  • Review and approve new business proposals (SSDM, GDM) according to established principles.
  • Analyze balance sheet entries to maintain overall integrity.
  • Handle special requests and contribute to internal projects.
  • Assist in addressing accounts receivable balances, fulfilling SOX requests, and providing commentary on the financial analysis dashboard.
  • Evaluate the control environment of the Business Unit and coordinate with internal auditors.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

  • Post secondary education
  • Completed or currently pursuing an accounting designation (CPA, CMA)
  • 2-3 years Operations Finance experience, ideally in a business partnership role
  • A strong work ethic and flexibility to meet dynamic business needs
  • Advanced skills in MS office suite including Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Practical experience with Hyperion and PeopleSoft, or similar ERP, Reporting and Business Intelligence tools is essential.
  • Experience, proficiency and comfort in communicating and working effectively at various levels, including senior management
  • A motivated self-starter that takes initiative to bring issues to resolution
  • Proven analytical and decision support skills
  • Highly organized and business process oriented
  • High level of comfort in challenging assumptions by leveraging logic and critical thinking
  • A proactive work ethic, the ability to prioritize, work backward from objectives and has a positive and collaborative attitude.
