ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with at least one year’s experience in a similar position

OR

  • Completion of a DEP in accounting combined with a minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Sense of analysis and synthesis;
  • Excellent organizational skills, meticulousness and confidentiality;
  • Excellent team spirit;
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite and Google apps skills;
  • Very good understanding of written and spoken French and English. The position requires close collaboration with internal and external colleagues throughout North America;
  • Be open to change and ready to acquire new skills;
  • Knowledge of Workday (asset).

Responsibilities:

SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

The telecommunications market is undergoing a major transformation, and Cogeco is moving forward with its plans to enter the Canadian mobile services market. We are looking for a Financial Analyst to support our finance team dedicated to wireless services.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the accounting team in their month-end activities: prepare journal entries, analyze balance sheet accounts, analyze results, prepare reconciliations;
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation;
  • Process monthly asset capitalization and fixed asset depreciation calculations;
  • Prepare credit notes and customer reimbursements;
  • Follow-up on accounts in default;
  • Account for charges in dispute;
  • Support the lease accounting process (IFRS16);
  • Answer questions from internal and external auditors;
  • Actively participate in documentation and process improvement;
  • Perform any other related tasks assigned to you according to current priorities.
