Description:
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Accounting designation (CPA or in progress) is an asset.
EXPERIENCE
- 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, book-keeping, and financial analysis.
- Specific experience with an OEM/manufacturer or automotive dealer group is considered an asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VBA, Macros, Pivots, Index/Match, Vlookup’s etc.)
- Strong analytical skills and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with large volumes of data.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; high level of accuracy and personal initiative.
- Ability to monitor and quality-check work to ensure high quality, accurate deliverables.
- Highly motivated, self-starter, with internal drive to learn and accomplish more.

Responsibilities:
The financial planning & analysis department in National operations is focused on providing impactful reporting and analysis to the regional executive team and Board to effectively manage the business. Under the supervision of Director, Financial Planning and Analysis, the Financial Analyst is responsible for preparing month-end financial reports and analyzing results to ensure delivery of accurate financial and operational information.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare month-end dealership financial reports using trial balance and memo fields. Consolidate individual dealership financial reports to prepare regional and national reports.
- Follow up with store and regional controllers on any issue related to the month-end trial balance and memo fields.
- Set-up annual budget files for each store based on historical information.
- Compare dealership operational KPIs with peer group based on information provided by OEMs.
- Analyze monthly departmental variances and summarize results.
- Participate in project meetings, document issues, action items, user requirements and/or deliverables.
- Support financial analysis for new initiatives and assist senior analysts in various financial analysis projects.
