Description:

Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis for Seaspan Shipyards, the Financial Analyst III, FP&A will be a highly skilled finance business partner with proven track record in collaborating with Business Technology Solutions (BTS) and Digital Transformation Office (DTO) teams. As a crucial member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in aligning financial strategies with technological advancements, ensuring optimal utilization of resources, and fostering innovation within the organization. This role will also deliver financial planning and analysis through financial modelling, scenario analysis, budgeting, forecasting and other analytics for Seaspan Shipyards entities.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and a keen ability to navigate and diffuse challenging situations with individuals exhibiting different personalities. This role requires tact, patience, and a proactive approach to foster positive relationships and maintain a harmonious work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the BTS and DTO leadership to develop and implement financial strategies that support organizational objectives.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes for BTS and DTO initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis, forecasts, and recommendations to optimize investments in BTS and DTO initiatives.
  • Monitor financial performance metrics and KPIs, proactively identifying risks and opportunities to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop business cases and financial models to support investment decisions in BTS and DTO projects, assessing potential ROI and long-term value creation.
  • Provide financial leadership and support BTS and DTO projects, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and financial governance standards.
  • Assist in the coordination of consolidated board reporting, annual budgeting, and rolling forecasting processes across all Seaspan entities.
  • Provide ad hoc and strategic analyses to enhance profitability and support key project initiatives, including direct and indirect spend, controllable and non-controllable costs, and overhead and G&A expense.
  • Work together with the Controllership team to assess the eligibility of projects for CAPEX/SaaS funding.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
