Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

We seek an experienced finance professional with excellent analysis and communication skills to support the Laboratory Equipment (LE) as a Financial Analyst III. This role will report to the Operations Finance Manager. The position is based at our flagship manufacturing, distribution and service business located in Asheville, NC.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Clear understanding of operating and cost drivers, with the ability to translate and interpret these within financial results
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to present analytical results in verbal and written form
  • Strong problem solving, data analysis and teamwork skills are essential
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with individuals and teams
  • Experience with Cognos or similar reporting packages highly desirable

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of progressive operational finance experience
  • Sophisticated Excel skills (Macros, Power Query, Conditional Formatting)
  • Ability to perform optimally under pressure and to prioritize assignments simultaneously
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
  • Self-motivated with high bias for action

Responsibilities:

Analyze the financial information generated from shop floor transactions, including a large sheet-metal Fabrication area, and develop corrective actions as needed
Assist with the Annual Standard Cost roll process, ensuring costs are tied to Annual Operating Plan (AOP) targets
Develop standard work to ensure variances are minimal and root cause corrective actions are in place.
Support the planning, preparation and execution of AOP targets for functional areas as assigned.
Assist in consolidating and preparing divisional Monthly Business Reviews and quarterly deliverables for Corporate reporting.
Identify underlying business drivers causing variances to encourage positive results and develop countermeasures
Prepare month end journal entries and account reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner.
Assist with ERP Integrations and / or master data integrity projects
Carry out adherence to Divisional Approval Authority Matrix and corporate accounting policies
Performs additional duties as assigned.
