Job Description: We at Avantor Sciences are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Financial Analyst (m/f/d) to join our team in Oslo, Norway. In this role, you will collaborate closely with business leaders to develop and implement action plans, annual operating plans, and monthly forecasts. You will prepare and review financial reports, analyze data to increase productivity, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaboration and Relationship Management:
  • Develop strong relationships with zone business leaders to set and achieve the annual operating plan
  • Engage daily as a co-leader of the business team and drive results with business leadership
  • Planning and Forecasting:
  • Develop and implement the annual operating plan and monthly forecasts
  • Prepare monthly forecast updates in collaboration with senior leadership
  • Analysis and Productivity Improvement:
  • Prepare and review monthly results and ad-hoc analyses to enhance operational productivity through revenue generation, margin expansion, and/or cost control
  • Develop financial presentation packages for review by senior leadership and business partners
  • Capital and Operating Cost Management:
  • Develop working capital targets for business units and coordinate with various functions to achieve targets
  • Continuously review the profitability of zone customers, categories, and products
  • Investment Evaluation and Compliance:
  • Review and develop financial justifications for capital and operating investments
  • Ensure business activities and processes comply with applicable laws and US GAAP
  • Customer and Proposal Process:
  • Actively participate and co-lead the customer proposal/RFQ process
  • Resolve financial/reporting issues raised by the business area or operating team
  • Policies and Best Practices:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
  • Recommend best practices based on analytical data review

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • 2+ years of experience in finance or accounting

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with executives, managers, and business leaders
  • Independent, self-starter, and highly motivated
  • Comfortable engaging with customers on contractual negotiations and other matters
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access)
