Description:

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Financial Controller-Canada and Europe, you will be involved in the financial reporting and overall accounting and finance function of the Canadian and European operations of the Company. If you have a background in reporting and general accounting, are detail-oriented, analytical, and a team player, you are the person we are looking for!

ESSENTIAL SKILLS :

  • Fluent in French/English both written and spoken
  • Knowledge of ERP accounting software is an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Office Suite
  • Ability to work with several files at the same time, while respecting deadlines and file confidentiality
  • Sense of analysis, autonomy and versatility
  • Have a good ability to structure information and follow up on files
  • Attention to detail, with good organization and analytical skills

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position, experience in the manufacturing sector would be an asset

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • A recognized accounting designation would be an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Complete the month-end process including the preparation of journal entries
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and various monthly reports
  • Prepare weekly production KPI reports
  • Review/prepare financial and bank reconciliations
  • Analyze, document and comment on monthly results, including investigation of variances in various accounts and results
  • Actively participate in the year-end and audit process
  • Review the coding of supplier invoices, as well as review of compliance in payment procedures and internal controls
  • Review payroll entries
  • Prepare monthly analysis of balance sheet items
  • Participate in the budget process
  • Complete inventory analysis
  • Act as a resource person for the management team, support the team in explaining financial performance
  • Collaborate in the implementation and validation of various internal controls
  • Collaborate in process improvement efforts
  • Ensure compliance with various tax and government filings
  • Other related tasks
