POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the Manager, Finance Accounting, the Financial Analyst – Corporate Accounting will be an integral finance team member in the financial and accounting support of the business. This individual will support day to day head office, pharmacy, clinic, and retail operations from a finance and accounting perspective. The incumbent is primarily responsible for completing inventory count analysis and reconciliations as well as completing periodic accounting transactions and analysis in support of the business’ annual, quarterly, and periodic financial statements, providing insight directly on the business. The person will also offer support to the stores and communicate with various internal departments.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree with finance and/or accounting specialization
  • 5+ years of experience as a financial analyst/accountant
  • Experience with inventory reconciliation and reporting
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and deadline oriented
  • Strong knowledge of business fundamentals and financial acumen
  • Ability to think strategically and strong skills to drive business initiatives end to end and deliver insights.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, evolving environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office, Power Point and Excel skills, including Pivot tables, lookups, sumifs, etc.
  • Data savvy and excelling in excel modelling.
  • Experience in the following systems considered to be an asset: Blackline Reconciliation, Business Central and MicroStrategy BI
  • Experience in multi-location and/or retail business environment considered to be an asset.
  • Experience with WIS inventory count systems and reports is considered to be an asset.
  • CPA designation is considered to be an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing annual Inventory count analysis comparing store count to accounting systems and providing commentary on variances
  • Analyzing inventory on a periodic basis to review for variances between multiple store systems and accounting system.
  • Providing periodic analytical commentary, including highlighting accounting issues and providing explanations for any variances to budget
  • Preparing periodic balance sheet reconciliations for inventory and commercial terms
  • Assisting with several other areas of the periodic, quarter end, and year end close process
  • Assisting with the overall integrity of the financial data, processes and business controls for the organization
  • Performing other external reporting requirements by the organizations’ business partners
  • Continuously drive improvements in the organization’s financial reporting processes
  • Participating, supporting, and driving corporate wide financial priorities & initiatives
