POSITION SUMMARY:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Financial Analyst.
The financial analyst assists in providing oversight for all financial aspects of the NYULH administrative pod departments. Assists with monthly financial updates (budget vs. actual) for the annual budget (Grants, contracts, clinical trials, operating, discretionary, affiliation and endowments). Assists in financial analysis and expense management for the departments. Provides reliable and responsive accounting and financial services in alignment with the strategic direction and needs of the administrative pod departments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

To qualify you must have a Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and minimum 3 years relevant work experience or an equivalent combination.
Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
Possess strong customer service and problem solving skill sets
Knowledgeable of accrual basis of accounting.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $62,400.00 - $73,140.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors budget on a monthly basis, confirms accuracy and conducts variance analysis of actual vs budget.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with the necessary Office of Science and Research and Finance departments units in order to address relevant issues.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis for special projects
  • Review all financial transactions, to thresholds, for each faculty research portfolio to ensure financial compliance and alignment with budget.
  • Initiate financial corrections to accounts in question by working with relevant NYULH departments and utilizing relevant tools to initiate account changes.
  • Assist in developing the departments annual budget
  • Initiate financial transactions to ensure that personnel and non-personnel expenditures are financially compliant.
  • Recommend and implement changes to ensure balanced accounts. When necessary, resolve funding overages.
  • Monitors personnel allocations across accounts.
  • Prepare analysis of fiscal projections to assist PIs with operational and strategic planning.
  • Responsible for the preparation of budget reports and financial updates for internal review and analysis.
  • Works with department leadership team to monitor all program budgets and troubleshoot problems identified from reports.
