Description:

  • Work/life balance with highly-flexible working environment
  • Blended accounting and analysis-focused role with the opportunity for project work
  • Nationally recognised tertiary education provider experiencing a post-Covid resurgence
  • CBD-based role paying to $90K + Super
    Financial Analyst - Tertiary Education
    Company Background
Our client is one of Australia’s best-known specialist tertiary education organisations and has been operating for nearly 50 years both locally and internationally. Their Finance team is well established and cohesive, and now needs a Financial Analyst to help them through their post-Covid resurgence as they expand organically and through acquisition.
    The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller in a team of eight, this role is one of two Financial Analysts that support the Senior Management team in their decision-making. More specifically the role will:

  • Assist with the annual budget and ad-hoc forecast preparations
  • Actively review and assist in developing and continuously improving financial models and processes to support planning and reporting requirements.
  • Monthly variance analysis of actual performance to budget and last year.
  • Analysis and report on Business Unit monthly financial performance.
  • Product profitability analysis (existing and new)
  • Assist business in transitioning to a model where revenue and costs are allocated to each state, including revenue and cost modelling.
  • Ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required.
  • Support Finance systems improvements.
  • Analysis for regulatory reporting.
  • Build positive and sustainable relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Contributes to the ongoing development and improvement of department processes and systems.
  • Attend and actively participate in all team meetings and information sessions.

Your Background
As this is a relatively hands-on role (no ivory towers here), the client would love to hire someone who is just as happy to get stuck into both the transactional side and also the more glamorous analysis aspects.
With revenues sub $100m, it’s still an SME so someone experienced within that organizational size is perfect. Also, experience in the services industry, (in particular education) would be fabulous.
It’s a great role, in a great team that will develop an up-and-coming Financial Analyst into a strong future business partner.
