QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-3 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, and/or other relevant business area
  • Degree in accounting or business/commerce, with preference for those working towards, or completed, a relevant industry-recognized certification (e.g. CPA)
  • Strong knowledge of business fundamentals and analytical skills with ability to draw insights and convey complex information in a straightforward manner
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to establish priorities with little direction in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong skills using Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Quickbooks is an asset
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, strong communication skills and personally interested in health and fitness

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a professional and dedicated Financial Analyst who is passionate about growing the S&T brand through meaningful financial insights to drive action and decision making.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, your primary job responsibilities will include:

  • Expense Management:
  • Track and analyze operating expenses, including identifying areas to teams for cost optimization
  • Provide guidance on expense management to departments to ensure financial efficiency and that annual budgets are met
  • Ensure timely payment of invoices and timely receipt of accounts receivables
  • Prepare budget vs. actuals variance reports to teams to identify areas of savings and pressures
  • Payroll:
  • Execute end-to-end payroll processes, including collecting and verifying timesheets with department leads, calculating wages and ensuring timely payments to employees
  • Stay up to date with federal, provincial and local payroll regulations, ensuring compliance with tax laws and other statutory requirements
  • Maintain accurate and up to date employee payroll records, including start date, probationary periods, termination dates, requesting ROE’s, etc.
  • Assist in administering employee benefits related to payroll such as monitoring eligibility for health insurance, calculating premiums, etc.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of payroll information, adhering to data protection regulations
  • Audit and Control:
  • Conduct regular internal audits to assess the effectiveness of financial and operational controls
  • Identify areas of material risk and misstatement and provide recommendations for enhancing internal processes
  • Ensure compliance with established internal policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Design, implement and monitor internal control frameworks to safeguard company assets and data, including cybersecurity
  • Ad-hoc projects and financial analyses, as required
