QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- University degree with at least two years business or financial experience
- Prefer candidates that have or aspiring to complete a finance certification
- Strong computer skills including MS Office and highly-proficient in MS Excel and Powerpoint.
- Strong acumen in cash flow reporting and financial analysis
- Strong mathematical skills and aptitude
- Experience working in a retirement residence is an asset
- Detail oriented, results focused and self-motivated
- Effectively handles pressure and competing priorities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Unfailing integrity and respect for confidentiality

Responsibilities:
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting and streamlining the Company’s corporate financial model, cashflow forecast, budget process and all other aspects of Corporate finance and reporting activities. Other responsibilities will include assisting in preparation of management reporting, supporting new finance program rollouts to residences and other ad hoc requests as needed. This role will work closely with the Treasury consultant, Finance team and Residences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Modelling
- Work with the Treasury consultant to maintain and streamline the Corporate financial model process
- Insightfully analyze and interpret financial results and create scenarios including impact on the Corporate credit facility and risks
- Develop an understanding of the Credit Facility covenants and reporting requirements
- Maintain the debt and commitments schedule
- Assist with performing quarterly Board reporting and ad hoc financial risk management analysis and reporting as required
- Participate in the annual valuation process
- Assist with refinancing activities and Credit Facility reporting requirements
- Business Support
- Manage the annual budget process for the residences though working with the Controllers and GM’s
- Support the quarterly forecasting process for the residences through working with the Controllers and GM’s including updating templates as required
- Utilize the financial reporting system to enhance management reporting through developing reports in Sage 300 or Reporting tool
- Assist in the preparation of management reporting packages and other operating reports
- Develop communication and training plans for adoption of new Finance processes and practices to the residences
- Provide training to the residences, facilitate sharing of best practices and increase financial acumen across the residences
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, document them and collaborate with the Finance team to move them forward.
- Other ad hoc Treasury, Financial projects and associated matters as required
