Job Title: Financial and Office Administrator – Maternity Leave Coverage (with possibility to extend)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance and Office Administrator to join our finance team in our downtown Edmonton office. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and analyzing financial data to support business decisions. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or entry-level professional looking to gain hands-on experience in accounting and finance. There is a possibility for this position to become a hybrid role after the 3-month probation period is passed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide general accounting support throughout the full accounting cycle.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Prepares semi-monthly payroll and maintains accounting records.
  • Assist in all banking and cash flow management.
  • Maintain and reconcile all employee expense reports.
  • Files GST, PST, RST, Source Deduction, Corp Tax, and RRSP Remittances
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Tracking and maintaining spreadsheets for sick days, vacations, banked time etc.
  • Assisting with employee onboarding setup and paperwork.
  • Providing support to the sales team – assisting with RFP templates & proposals when required.
  • Other administrative duties as required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Previous internship or work experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principals and financial concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting software (eg. Simply Accounting).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail- oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
